What's happening around the lake?

This time of the year is normally pretty slow over on the lake. This year however, we continue to see a fair amount of activity in home and lot sales. I see this continuing on into the new year and and feel 2018 will be another strong year. It’s a great time to get into the lake life! We would love to help you!

Congratulations to the Randolph County High School Tigers varsity football team for making it to the state semi-finals! The Tigers will be taking on the Piedmont High School Bulldogs this Friday, December 1st, at 7:00 pm in Piedmont, AL. If they win the semi-final round, they will advance to the state finals on December 7th! Let’s cheer on our Tigers!! It’s pretty cool that on Saturday it will be the Tigers vs the Bulldogs for the SEC championship! How ironic!

Mark your calendars for the annual Wedowee Christmas Parade, December 7th at 6:00 pm. If you are in town, please plan to attend. It’s a fun family event and a great way to begin holiday festivities! If the Randolph County High School Tigers football team make it to the final round for the state championship, the parade will be moved to the following Saturday. Our new hospital, Tanner Medical Center/East Alabama is now serving breakfast from 7:00 am – 9:00 am and lunch from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm in the Tanner Cafe. We picked up lunch this week and it was very good! Stop in and help support the cafe when you are in town.

The Meadowcraft store in Wadley in open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays until December 25th. You can drop in and shop on Fridays, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm, and Saturdays, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. The Randolph County Animal Shelter has done an awesome job since opening! They have placed over 5200 animals. They have also neutered or spayed over 600 animals since they’ve been in business. They could really use your donations and it’s a great place to adopt a dog or cat for Christmas! Contact April Richardson at (256) 357-0101 for more information.
