My wife and I have purchased a quite a number of homes over the past 27 years and have dealt with a number of realtors. We've seen realtors that are relatively proactive, and we've seen realtors that seem satisfied to let the buyers come to us, without much work or effort---this never really worked so well.

We enlisted the services of Gene and Ramonda Crouch when our lake home didn't sell for a number of months. My wife and I were eager for some professional service and feedback, not just someone who would put the property on the internet. Sure enough, a buyer came along. The negotiation process was a bit "odd" and the offer was lower than we were willing to accept. Quite honestly, we thought the deal was dead. But here is where Gene's talents and experience in real estate *and the corporate world) kicked in. He found ways for us to "meet in the middle" and, quite literally, took very proactive steps to make the deal happen. Out of the ashes and disappointment of a lowball offer came a deal that we were really quite happy with! My wife and I were blown away. Gene was THE MAN.

After the deal was settled, there were things like home inspections, dealing with lenders, working with the attorney's office, utility companies, etc. etc. We sat back and Gene handled it ALL. Literally. This was especially appreciated because my wife was dealing with the impending death of her father, who ended up passing away days before the closing. No problem---Gene partnered with the local attorney to FedEx documents up to Canada in order to get her part of the process complete. He stopped at nothing to serve us. Unbelievable.

The closing happened, right on schedule and our lake home sold, just as he said it would.

Throughout the process, we marveled at the service. Service with a graciousness and kindness that took us back to the good ol' days when a handshake was a deal, and a man's word was worth everything. We instantly liked Gene and Ramonda and have become friends through the process. We are planning a couples dinner together soon!

Do yourself a favor: Don't "settle" on your choice of a realtor. Go with Gene and Ramonda Crouch.
